Kaiser Permanente, the Oakland-based health care giant, says it will open a medical school in 2019. The school will be based in southern California but no specific site has been selected yet.

Office of Ratepayer Advocates Left Without a Leader
Even as questions continue to emerge about the record of the California Public Utilities Commission, Governor Brown has neglected the Officer of Ratepayer Advocates, the state agency that fights for the lowest utility rates and for the safety of residential consumers and small businesses. The office has been without a permanent director for more than five years.
