Van-Anh Vo Transforms a Refugee's Odyssey Into a Musical Performance

Hundreds of thousands of refugees fleeing their country by boat. That's Syria today. But in 1979, it was Vietnam. Musician Van-Anh Vo was born in Hanoi but now lives in the Bay area. She has written a piece of music about the Vietnamese boat people that's premiering in San Francisco, and touring to three other cities across the U.S.
