We begin today with Governor Jerry Brown, who has been pressing to reform criminal sentencing in California, with an eye to reducing the state's prison population. Scott Shafer, Senior Editor of KQED's California Politics and Government Desk, got a chance to sit down with Brown to talk about it. He joins Rachael Myrow.

Modernist Architecture in Palm Springs
Today, Palm Springs is just as famous for its treasure trove of mid-century modern architecture as it is for its sun, pools and desert landscape. This week, the walls of glass and elegantly simple open floor plans of the post-war period will be on display. The 11th annual "Modernism Week" is expected to draw thousands of visitors.
