Series of Flood Gates Serve as Relief Valve to Protect Sacramento

All the recent storms have prompted flood managers to do something they haven't done in more than a decade. They've opened the historic Sacramento Weir -- a relief valve to keep the Sacramento River from over-topping levees and flooding the state capital.
