Retired Marine Gen. James Mattis is scheduled to be on Capitol Hill today for his Senate confirmation hearing as Donald Trump's nominee for secretary of defense. Mattis is seen as a legend by Marines, especially those at Camp Pendleton, near San Diego, who he commanded in Iraq and Afghanistan. They say the man called 'Mad Dog' might help ground the incoming Trump administration.
