Salinas' Chinatown is where drug deals, gang violence and homelessness mix together in an isolated pocket of the city. Just this year, there have been four shootings, a homicide and a fire all in the span of one block. But plans are underway to give the neighborhood a makeover. Its long history of vice and violence could change with a few design tweaks.
