Most Syrian refugees in California live in resettlement areas: San Diego and Turlock for example, cities that get federal funding to help these newcomers start over. But some Syrians are now migrating on their own to Fresno, where there's cheaper housing and a large Arab-American community. But volunteers and advocacy groups are scrambling to keep up.
