From the other end of the Central Valley (or in the foothills just above it), the Enterprise Bridge passes over a nearly dry section of Lake Oroville earlier this week. The lake is the largest reservoir in the State Water Project and the second-largest in California after Lake Shasta. Both Oroville and Shasta are less than one-third full now and have less than half the water they have on average at this time of year. (Justin Sullivan/Getty Images)
