Divers pulled the second car of the day from the Delta-Mendota Canal this evening but sheriff's officials said it was not the Toyota Corolla being sought in the kidnapping of 4-year-old Juliani Cardenas of Patterson...Jiuliani Cardenas was snatched Tuesday, and a statewide Amber Alert remains in effect for him and Jose Esteban Rodriguez, 27. In a tearful television interview Thursday, the San Jose mother of a man sought in a kidnapping of a 4-year-old Patterson boy pleaded for her son to do the right thing. A statewide Amber Alert was issued Tuesday night for Jose Esteban Rodriguez, 27 after he abducted Juliani Cardenas in Patterson, according to the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department. Authorities initially thought he was headed to San Jose because his mother lives here, but so far a search for Rodriguez has turned up empty and the search has widened to the rest of the state.
