The former Republican governor hopeful is one of five new directors set to join the Hewlett-Packard board of directors.

The world's largest computer maker announced Whitman's appointment after the close of the bell Thursday.

Whitman will be joined by Shumeet Banerji, CEO of Booz & Company; Gary Reiner, former CIO of General Electric; Patricia Russo, former CEO of Alcatel-Lucent; and Dominique Senequier, CEO of AXA Private Equity. Full article
