Sacramento Teachers Hold One Day Strike
The Sacramento City Unified School District is the third school district to strike in the state this year, following Los Angeles Unified and Oakland Unified. While teachers and support staff in those places were fighting for contracts, educators in Sacramento already signed one in 2017 that they were quite pleased with. The only problem is that it hasn’t been fully enforced.

Central Valley Teachers Approve New Contract
In Madera, north of Fresno, teachers voted overwhelmingly this week to accept a new contract offer from the Madera Unified School District. Teachers there were also on the verge of striking, but the agreement they got is a short term fix.
