False reports of an active shooter prompted a panicked audience to flee San Francisco's SHN Orpheum Theatre Friday night during a performance of the musical “Hamilton.” Four people were injured and taken to the hospital.
At 9:51 p.m., during the performance, a woman in the audience had a medical emergency. A bystander treated the victim with an automated external defibrillator, which triggered an alarm.
To add to the confusion, the medical incident coincided with a gun shot in the play and an audience member shouted, "gun," according to an account on Twitter.
