L.A. Teachers Strike Ends
Los Angeles teachers are going back to work to this morning. Their union has reached a tentative deal with the LA Unified School District. Last night over 30,000 union members voted to approve the deal, which ended the strike. At issue was higher pay, classroom size and increased staffing.

PG&E Says Bankruptcy Could Take 3 Years as Shareholders Fight Filing
“Debtor in Possession Financing” is the fancy financial term for the $5.5 billion in loans PG&E has just locked in from several major banks. The company announced that Tuesday in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Department of Justice Settles with Stockton Unified School District
After years of investigating, the California Department of Justice settled with Stockton Unified school police for a pattern and practice of discrimination, which led to black and Latino students, and disabled students, being referred to law enforcement for minor misconduct.
