Eight Wounded in Shootout at San Bernardino Apartment Complex
Two people remain in critical condition after a shooting during a dice game at an apartment complex in San Bernardino. Six others were wounded. According to San Bernardino Police Captain Richard Lawhead, the neighborhood is known to have gang activity.

Many suspect social media plays a role, but scholars at the University of Warwick in the U.K. wanted to quantify this. So they went to Germany, where they looked at the link between anti-refugee sentiment expressed on Facebook and actual violence.

Ciccarone is a professor at UCSF and has been studying opioid addiction for 18 years.
