SB 1530 was introduced after the recent series of horrific sexual misconduct cases in the L.A. Unified School District. Legislation that would have made it easier to fire a teacher accused of sexually abusing a student died in the Assembly Education Committee last night, thanks to fierce opposition from the California Teachers Association.
