Children with a terminal illness can benefit from hospice care. But Federal law requires that hospice patients stop any treatment that's intended to save their lives -- and that can be hard for kids and their families to accept. California is now engaged in a three-year pilot program that delivers both hospice and curative care to seriously ill children.
