San Francisco State professor John Irwin passed away this week. He called himself a convict criminologist. Irwin used his experiences as a young man -- as a criminal and prison inmate -- to guide his career as a respected sociologist. Over the past few years, Michael Montgomery recorded a number of interviews with Irwin and presents this story about his unusual life and work.
