An enormous snowpack in the California mountains is turning into an enormous runoff, swelling the state's rivers and making them run fast. Three river rafters died over the Memorial Day weekend in the Central Valley's Kern River. That brings the Kern River's death toll to 10 this year and it's not even June yet.
