New LGBT Curriculum Approved for K-12 Students
The State Board of Education approved a new K-12 social studies blueprint Thursday that will teach students about LGBT history starting in elementary school. Gov. Jerry Brown signed a historic law requiring public schools to adopt LGBT curriculum five years ago, but legal challenges and budget cuts put that on hold.
