Greywater is relatively clean waste water from showers and such. A decade ago, recycling it was illegal. Even today, the practice sits in a gray zone legally in many cities in California. But that's changing because of the drought, and some cities are starting to mandate recycling greywater. Big home builders, who could help bring this once fringe practice into the mainstream, are also joining the bandwagon.
