Santa Monica Survivor Looked Shooter in the Eye
The city of Santa Monica is still in shock over Friday's shooting rampage which has now claimed five lives. It's unclear why 23-year-old John Zawahri opened fire before he was killed in a shootout with police -- but Debra Fine is counting her blessings. Fine was driving home Friday when she saw a man dressed in black pointing an automatic rifle at another motorist. The shooter then trained his attention -- and his rifle -- on her.
San Onofre Shutdown Likely to Take a Long Time
The reactors at the San Onofre nuclear plant in San Diego County haven't generated any power since being sidelined over a year ago following the discovery of a radiation leak and erosion of some generator tubes. After failing to overcome a host of regulatory hurdles needed to restart the ailing facility, Southern California Edison announced plans to shutter the plant.
