He presides over one of the first mental health courts in California, working with offenders who are suffering from a variety of mental illnesses.

When you buy something like a book or a flat-screen TV from a California retailer, you'll have state sales tax calculated on the transaction. If you buy it from an online company that doesn't have a physical presence in the state, you won't. State lawmakers are trying to change that.
