In Los Angeles today, the City Council will consider regulations that could lead to the shut down of hundreds of medical marijuana dispensaries. While some California cities have banned dispensaries or closely regulated them, LA has taken a relatively lax approach. As a result, the number of those outlets has exploded to as many as 1,000 - more than in any city in the nation.
