The Torah is the most sacred religious text in Judaism. The Contemporary Jewish Museum in San Francisco examines how a Torah is made, and the various rituals and rules surrounding the process in the new exhibit "As It Is Written: Project 304,805," named for the number of letters in a Torah. At the center of the show is a living scribe, who will sit in the gallery for the next year writing each letter.
