Redistricting Threatened By Lack of Funding
Next week, Californians will be able to apply for the chance to do something that until now only politicians have done: draw district maps for the Legislature and Board of Equalization. That once-a-decade process is known as redistricting. Next year, it will be overseen by an independent citizens commission. But it appears that effort is poised to run out of money before the process even begins.
