Not everyone flees Los Angeles for the wilderness -- some find their own kind of tranquility right in the middle of the city. When Jackie Sloan's toddler developed epilepsy, the family was plunged into a whirlwind of seizures, hospital visits and therapy. Horse riding was one thing her daughter loved, and over the years, Sloan grew to love it too. Now, after a career in corporate law, Sloan is running a horse ranch for special needs children.
