In Sacramento yesterday, legislators handed down what appears to be a split decision on Arnold Schwarzenegger's choice for lieutenant governor, Abel Maldonado. The Republican lawmaker won the support of his fellow state senators, but was seemingly turned back by the state Assembly. The governor says he'll be swearing in Maldonado anyway.
