Tesla and Toyota Partnership
The last major auto manufacturing facility on the West Coast, closed on April 1st, will reopen under new management. New United Motor Manufacturing Inc. (NUMMI) was a joint partnership between Toyota and GM which fell apart after GM filed bankruptcy. Now, the Japanese auto giant is teaming up with Tesla Motors, an electric car company based in Palo Alto. Toyota's CEO announced his company will invest $50 million in Tesla when the start up begins selling stock to the public.

Californians Sue to Restore School Funding
A coalition of students, parents and education groups, including nine school districts, filed suit yesterday. They're arguing that the state must boost education funding by billions of dollars to conform to a guaranteed standard of education contained in the California Constitution.
