Does having children lead to a happier marriage? Recent research has actually indicated a decrease in marital satisfaction after the birth of a child. But the equation is not that simple, according to a new report by UC Berkeley researchers Philip and Carolyn Cowan. They’ve found that couples who plan or agree to have a child and work on their relationship often maintain or increase their marital satisfaction. We talk to the Cowans about their study.
