Pulitzer Prize-winning Bay Area author T. J. Stiles joins us to talk about about his latest book, “Custer’s Trials.” The biography explores both the complex life of General George Custer and the dramatic shifts in America during his lifetime. Known mostly for his “last stand,” Custer played a significant role in modernizing the young nation of his era, but he could never adapt to the changes he helped usher in. Stiles reintroduces us to a near mythic figure in our national lore.

Guests:

T.J. Stiles, author most recently of "Custer's Trials: A Life on the Frontier of a New America."
