Author Dave Eggers joins us to discuss his new picture book, “This Bridge Will Not Be Gray.” It’s the story of a little-known architect who made a big contribution to the Bay Area in choosing the International Orange color that has become so emblematic of the Golden Gate Bridge. Eggers has also been working on the reissue of his great-great-grandfather’s autobiography about founding the town of Hollister, California. We’ll hear about these projects and get an update on Eggers’ nonprofit, 826 Valencia and its plans for a new tutoring center in the Tenderloin.

Guests:

Dave Eggers, founder and editor of McSweeney's; author of "This Bridge Will Not Be Gray," a new picture book illustrated by Tucker Nichols
