SXSW Cancels Gamergate Panels, Revives Controversy Over Video Game Culture

On Monday SXSW Interactive announced it was canceling two panels on “Gamergate,” the ongoing culture war over ethics and diversity in the video game community. Organizers of SXSW, one of the world’s largest tech conferences, cited “numerous threats of on-site violence.” In response to the cancellations, media outlets Buzzfeed and Vox are boycotting the conference. We discuss the latest chapter in the Gamergate saga.
