Dozens of African migrants drowned in the Mediterranean Sea this week after a boat crammed with more than 130 people deflated near Sicily. More than 1,800 people have died so far this year trying to cross the Mediterranean from Africa. We discuss the migrant crisis in Europe and the conditions in African countries that are leading their residents to dangerous human smuggling networks.
