President Obama appears ready to go it alone on an overhaul of the nation’s immigration system. According to news reports, the administration’s plan, which could be released as early as next week, may include protecting up to five million undocumented immigrants from the threat of deportation. Republicans in Congress vowed to block any executive action by the president on immigration.
