When it comes to popular culture, just how accurate is the portrayal of criminals, police and the justice system? Each year the National Council on Crime and Delinquency gives the Media for a Just Society Awards to work that furthers understanding of social justice issues. Forum speaks with one of the winners, “Fruitvale Station” Director Ryan Coogler, and one of the judges, Sonja Sohn of HBO’s “The Wire.”
