Billed as the “world’s longest-running musical revue,” Beach Blanket Babylon celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. Its founder Steve Silver originally thought it would only last six weeks when he premiered it in 1974, but the colorful stage performance has only grown in fans and a cast of characters spoofing everyone from San Francisco politicians to Oprah Winfrey and King Louis XIV. We reflect on the show’s history and its trademark jaw-dropping hats, knowing for their towering fruit displays and models of the San Francisco skyline.

Guests:

Shawna Ferris McNulty, performer with Beach Blanket Babylon who plays Snow White in the ensemble cast

Curt Branom, performer with Beach Blanket Babylon known for playing the role of King Louis

Jo Schuman Silver, producer for Beach Blanket Babylon
