Robert Hass was United States poet laureate from 1995-97, when he began promoting eco-literacy and later created River of Words, an organization that teaches school kids about environmental awareness. His wife, poet Brenda Hillman, also centers her writing and activism on the natural world. Hass and Hillman join us to discuss exploring nature through poetry, and their work for environmental causes.
