It’s once again possible to drive along the scenic coast all the way from San Francisco to San Diego. In May 2017, the massive Mud Creek landslide in Big Sur pushed the shoreline out and buried a quarter mile segment of roadway, delivering a blow to businesses and residents alike. We’ll discuss Wednesday’s opening of Highway 1 at Mud Creek Slide, and hear how the Big Sur community is reacting.

Guests:
Greta Mart, news director, KCBX

Marcus Foster, Big Sur resident

Susana Cruz, spokesperson, Caltrans District 5

Rori Cosma, spokesperson, Ragged Point Inn and Resort; Big Sur resident
