As a youngster, Bay Area artist, writer and naturalist Obi Kaufmann liked to wander around Mount Diablo to observe the abundance of wildlife and variety of oaks. His first book, “The California Field Atlas,” pays homage to that landscape. Replete with hand-painted watercolor maps and musings on his travels around the state, the book is a love letter to California. Kaufmann joins us to discuss “The California Field Atlas,” and his ideas for wildlife conservation.
