The election of Donald Trump highlighted the divisions in the U.S. between the so-called liberal elite and working-class white voters. Shortly after the election, UC Hastings law professor Joan Williams published a widely-shared essay in the Harvard Business Review, now expanded into a book, that explores what she says are misconceptions of the white working class -- including that they are poor. Williams joins us to discuss her new book “White Working Class: Overcoming Class Cluelessness in America," and to offer some ideas for getting past the divide.
