We discuss today’s vote by the San Francisco Board of Supervisors on a proposal to implement AB 1421, also known as Laura’s Law. The measure gives courts the clout to compel outpatient treatment for individuals with severe mental illness who’ve refused treatment, and are deemed a danger to themselves or others.
