Officially titled the “California Fair Elections Act,” Proposition 15 would lift current bans on public funding of political campaigns and establish a pilot program to provide public financing for qualified candidates for Secretary of State. Proponents hail it as a much-needed reform to reign in the role of money in campaigns. Opponents warn, however, that the proposition is misleading and could use taxpayers’ dollars to fund political campaigns.

Guests:

Trent Lange, chair of the Yes on Proposition 15 Campaign for the California Fair Elections Act and president of the board of directors of the California Clean Money Campaign

Richard Wiebe, campaign spokesperson for Stop Prop 15.com
