Date and Time
Saturday, April 30, 2022 11:30 AM (PT)

Carnaval San Francisco is a multicultural celebration of music, dance, and artistry that since 1978 has showcased Latin American, Caribbean and African Diasporics culture and the talents of Mission District residents in an atmosphere of harmony and revelry.

Have you ever wondered how the King and Queen of Carnaval San Francisco are chosen?

Meet this year’s fierce contestants as they dance to Latin rhythms while competing for their crowns and titles as King and Queen of this year’s Carnaval Festival!

For the full experience, come back later in the evening for our companion event Creating the Future of Carnaval San Francisco with the organization's leaders, hosted by KQED en Español reporter Carlos Cabrera-Lomelí, about the theme of this year's festivities, "Colores de Amor," and its vision inclusivity, family and community. Then see the newly crowned King and Queen perform their triumphal dance!
