Tom Comitta

Tom Comitta is an intermedia writer and publisher based in San Francisco. His writings have appeared in literary journals and performance venues in the U.S. and abroad, as well as Twitter, art galleries, occupations, bathroom stalls, YouTube, and elsewhere. In the past year, Comitta has co-conducted and produced seven operas for SF Guerrilla Opera. Part interactive social experiment, part improvisatory sound poetry troupe, the group has staged operas all over San Francisco: from a 40-minute, 40-person incantation of books found in Adobe Bookstore, to a three-hour adaptation of the Wall Street Journal in Union Square, to an unpurposing of the Bay to Breakers 12K Foot Race, singing any and all text found en route.
