Maya Mirsky is an Oakland-based reporter who loves to compare the city to her hometown of Los Angeles, even though the natives hate it. In between assignments she works on finding legitimate-sounding reasons to eat out all the time. Her articles appear in the Oakland Tribune and its North Oakland weekly, the Montclarion. She spends summers in Budapest.
