Arooba Kazmi is a graduate student at Columbia Journalism School focusing on narrative writing and longform journalism. She completed her undergrad at San Jose State University, where she focused on broadcast storytelling and covered the refugee crisis over a three week study abroad trip to Greece and Italy. Upon graduation, Arooba worked at KCBS Radio as a production assistant and discovered her fondness for broadcast writing. She is interested in covering social issues including politics, race, gender inequality. When Arooba is not working, she is binging shows on Netflix, eating out with her friends, occasionally traveling or reading romance novels.
