Find Out Which Bay Area Beaches Are Contaminated With the Most Bacteria

The Bay Area was well-represented in terms of bacteria that exceeded daily maximum standards. Contra Costa County had the highest exceedance rate in 2012 (17 percent), followed by San Mateo County (16 percent). San Francisco was No. 4 at 15 percent.
