Blake Shelton: Not required for marketing campaigns apparently.

That's right, folks. We've reached that time of year again when stars add the sound of sleigh bells to their songs and skip joyfully towards a paycheck Christmas cheer!

Weird-ass couple Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton joined the Holiday Song club this morning with "You Make It Feel Like Christmas," a perky, saccharine candy cane of a song that makes us reminisce about Gwen's back catalog and ask: Where did this person go?

The song is mercifully short, but the video throws festive clichés at us thick and fast. Let us count the ways...

  1. "Enjoying" fake snow, in a convertible, with a Christmas tree:

Her mouth says she's happy, but her eyes ask, "How did I get here?" (We're wondering the same thing, girl.)

2. Retro Aesthetics

About 20 years ago, someone just arbitrarily decided that the 1950s were the most festive of all the decades. So now, every year, we have to see people pretending it's 70 years ago. See?

3. Children. All of the Children.

Children.
Children.

Children in the band. Children dressed as elves. Children doing dance routines. Old school Gwen is like:

4. Wacky Snowman Building Scene

Pointing at it doesn't make it funny.

5. A Wacky Tree-Decorating Scene

Who wore it better? Blake Shelton? Or the dog from Gremlins?

6. "Sexy" Santa

No one wants to have intercourse with this old man.

The Blake Shelton romance was a stretch, but this is ridiculous.

Stop it, Gwen. Just stop it.

Give it a few weeks and this will all be over. In the meantime, if you want to subject yourself to the video in full, have at it.
