On April 22, the U.S. Postal Service confirmed it would sell its historic downtown Berkeley building at 2000 Allston Way and relocate to another location nearby. This happened despite an appeal made in March by the Berkeley City Council that USPS wait a year before making a final decision on the relocation, and vocal opposition from a group of local residents. Members of the public were invited to see the first solar-powered airplane, Solar Impulse, at a public open house event at Moffett Field in Mountain View on Saturday, April 20.
