The Bully Fire in Shasta County is more or less fully contained after scorching the better part of 13,000 acres southwest of Redding. About 300 firefighters remain on the scene to "mop up" hot spots, but at the height of the effort there were more than 1,500 men and women battling the blaze, including hundreds of low-level prison inmates.
